The Booth committee is in charge of finding trained volunteers to work the booth for all swim meets hosted by Dawson. The Chair is encouraged to set up a training class and recruit DABC parents to participate.
The Community Outreach committee will organize events throughout the swim, dive, and water polo seasons to help Dawson Aquatics give back to our community. The Chair will present ideas to the board and coordinate event dates with the coaches. The Chair may solicit financial support from DABC, local businesses, and athletes' families when needed.
The Concessions committee is in charge of the planning and implementation of selling food and drink at swim/dive meets and water polo tournaments hosted by Dawson Aquatics.
The Fundraising committee is in charge of the organization and running of the car wash in the fall / spring, spirit nights, etc. Additional fundraising events may be added if needed to support the club’s goals. The Chair will be in charge of all aspects of the sponsor posters for fall and spring.
The Head Official is in charge of recruiting the number of officials needed for each swim meet hosted by Dawson. The Head Official should work with the coaches to schedule an official training class (or find a local class) early each school year and encourage parents to participate.
The Head Timer is responsible for recruiting volunteers to time at all swim meets hosted by Dawson. The Head Timer is also in charge of ensuring that all timer equipment is prepared for each meet.
The Hospitality committee provides food, drinks, and a festive atmosphere in the hospitality room at all Dawson-hosted swim/dive meets and water polo tournaments. The hospitality room serves to show Dawson’s appreciation for visiting coaches, swim officials, and water polo referees.
Also the committee is in charge of planning menus, soliciting donations from local businesses and parents, and managing the hospitality room at events.
The Merchandise committee is responsible for ordering all DABC merchandise for the team. Orders may include t-shirts, hoodies, tanks, yard signs, car decals, freebies for those who pay dues, beach towels, and any other items approved by the board. The Merchandise Committee is not responsible for ordering team swimsuits or team equipment.
The Scholarship committee is responsible for reviewing, distributing, collecting, and evaluating scholarship packets for the annual scholarships awarded by DABC to outgoing seniors. The Chair will work with the board to determine details each year.
The Swim/Dive and Water Polo Social committees are responsible for planning all DABC-sponsored social events during the swim/dive and water polo season respectively. In addition to the traditional social events held annually, new events may be added if approved by the board. Both committees will work together for the End-of-Year Banquet.
The Team Meals for Swim/Dive and Water Polo Season committees are responsible for organizing, taking orders, collecting payments, ordering, and delivering all away team meals for the swim/dive meets and water polo games/tournaments respectively.
The Website committee is responsible for maintaining and updating current and relevant information on the DABC website. Standard information includes items such as meet and tournament schedules, upcoming events, rosters (when available), forms, and any additional information requested to be shared by the Dawson Aquatics coaches.
